Strategy’s stock fell by 0.69% in after-hours trading. This follows speculation from former CEO Michael Saylor that we’d hear of yet another Bitcoin purchase on Monday. Between March 31 and April 6, the company maintained a hold pattern, no longer buying up coins. The price of Bitcoin today is $84,762.

On March 31, Strategy made headlines by acquiring a staggering $2 billion in Bitcoin. This audacious purchase increased their total position to about 530,000 coins altogether! The average acquisition cost per coin is currently at $67,458. These orange dots on the graph are Strategy’s Bitcoin purchases.

Despite Strategy's significant Bitcoin holdings, the cryptocurrency's price has underperformed this year due to macroeconomic turbulence caused by tariffs. The company's Bitcoin acquisitions often have a minimal impact on Bitcoin's price since they are largely priced in by the market. In 2025 to date, Strategy’s share price has been treading water.

In 2024, Strategy became the biggest investment narrative thanks to its large profits. Its one-year returns are astonishing, second only to Tesla, Nvidia and Bitcoin itself. On Friday, Strategy’s shares jumped more than 10%.

A major Bitcoin correction would more than erase all of Strategy’s Bitcoin profits. Michael Saylor's social media declaration that "Bitcoin is powered by chaos" encapsulates the inherent risk associated with the company's investment strategy.
