Could $DOOD be your ticket to Web3 freedom, or is it another shiny bauble bound to rust? The TGE is just around the corner. At the same time, we need to take a hard look at the socioeconomic ramifications and ethical obligations associated with this launch. This is a story I walked $PENGU, my buddy $ANIME, the credits usually roll on these movies with a sour candy taste.
DOOD's Distribution Truly Fair Though?
Let's dissect this 10 billion token pie. A full 30% is distributed back to the Doodles community. The rest of the distribution is 25% to the ecosystem fund, 17% to the team, 13% to New Blood, 10% liquidity, and 5% to the company. Sounds decent, right? Dig deeper. That “Doodles Community” allocation, despite looking generous at first glance, isn’t fairly distributed. Who’s really benefiting most from that 30%? Early adopters? Whales holding multiple Doodles? What about the "New Blood" allocation? Will these be engaged new community members, or absentee new investors with deep pockets?
This isn’t about hating on success. It's about asking if this token distribution reinforces the same inequalities we're trying to escape in the traditional financial world. We’d do well to begin asking whether these tokenomics are designed to benefit the insiders first, or if they actually put power in the hands of communities.
Remember Nkrumah, a champion of independence. He knew that silencing dissent without addressing fundamental economic truths is simply postponing the fight. Are we really going to democratize finance, or are we just unleashing a new generation of digital overlords?
Freedom to Invest, Responsibility to All
That brings me to another great thing about Web3 – the notion of freedom, including the freedom to invest, freedom to trade, and freedom to make a profit. With great power (and potential profits), comes great responsibility. A staggering 43% of the total supply could be unlocked at TGE thanks to the "Doodles Community" and "New Blood" allocations, which is a red flag. 925 billion in potential sell pressure flooding the market all at once.
Think of it as the old 19th century gold rushes – don’t go to Alaska trying to find gold. Certainly, a few hit the jackpot, but most were left with nothing but fool’s gold and shattered aspirations. Are we about to do just that to the everyday DOOD holder? Today’s pre-market price on MEXC is approximately $0.025. While a new Binance Futures listing is an optimistic indicator, it by no means guarantees success and can serve as a powerful tool for market manipulation.
The public Doodles team and their early investors still have a moral obligation to provide a fair, transparent launch. Insider trading, market manipulation – these aren’t merely bad looks, they’re odious acts that strip away the core tenets of decentralization. What we demand - Accountability - Transparency - A Commitment to Protecting the Community
Beyond Hype, What’s The Real Impact?
The launches of $PENGU and $ANIME present cautionary reminders. All brought plenty of initial hype, followed by sharp price corrections as first-movers and early investors took profits. Doodles has the mainstream appeal, the big partnerships (hi McDonald’s!), and the community engagement. The DreamNet platform, the Dreamverse, it just sounds like such a wonderful opportunity. Because at the end of the day, it really is about so much more than the hype.
What's the socioeconomic impact of all this? Will $DOOD primarily benefit wealthy investors, or will it create real opportunities for individuals with limited financial resources? And as a firsthand tool, might DOOD be an unexpected tool for financial inclusion, especially in developing economies? Or will it exacerbate existing inequalities?
We shouldn’t overlook the possibility for $DOOD, and web3 on the whole, to be a net positive. But good intentions aren't enough. Tokenomics must be equitable, sustainable, and truly empowering. Please join us in holding the Doodles team’s feet to the fire. We need to demand transparency.
The TGE is a reckoning. Now is the time for a bold choice. Are we building the digital, decentralized future we all dream of, or merely transferring yesterday’s physical world challenges into a digital format?
Let's choose freedom. Let's demand fairness.
